Terms of Service
You have the right to download your content at any time.
You can close your account at any time by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org and choose whether your content will remain on the site. Some content, such as contributions to conversations with other members, cannot be removed.
Your content will not be intentionally shown to people who are not active members of the site or shared with third parties.
Your email address and mailing address will not be shared with anyone without your consent.
Uncommon in Common is designed to be something very different. We want to encourage offline lives and healthy use of the site. For those reasons, there may be times when some or all of the site's functionality is temporarily unavailable. These times will be intentional and scheduled, and we will announce them in advance.
If there is a significant unplanned outage, you will receive a full explanation of the circumstances and what measures will be taken to prevent a recurrence.
If the site ceases operation, you will receive an opportunity to download your content.
You have the right to receive an explanation, and when possible advance warning, if your account is cancelled for the reasons outlined below.
Any new features that affect privacy will be strictly opt-in.
You are expected to do unto others as you would have them do unto you. That means being kind and fair to fellow members. You may not use the site to harass or spam others.
You must not abuse the site by using too much of its resources or knowingly posting malicious code, or links to malicious sites, that could harm other users.
We reserve the right to close an account if necessary.
This is Version 1.0 of Uncommon in Common's Terms of Service, posted November 29, 2012. It is inspired by the fine example set by Pinboard. The Terms can and will be updated as the site and community grow. New versions will be posted here. If you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to share them:
